He listened to her stutter and couldn't help but think it was his fault he had brought this up, and now it was causing pain and anger. He cursed himself under his breath and turned to her. "No, I did do something to provoke it and I expect no apoligy. Now to change the subject we are almost at camp." He quickly thought of a new topic and went with it. "Do you have an affinity?" The second he asked a large gust of air cut across them, he flicked his tail and kept moving. If they went on like this the two wolves would never make it back to camp.

She opened her mouth to say 'no, no, I do need to apologize,' but shook her head sadly. It was no use. Too much of a gentleman. Renald did as he did; she dropped it, gladly.
"Affinity?" The word rolled around in her head for awhile until she found a reason for it to do so; when she had, she'd already answered. "Water," Renald smiled weakly. "How about yourself?"

A strong gust of wind came from behind him, the pressure around them changed and both their paws were lifted off the ground for a moment. He narrowed his eyes and grinned, "you might have guess already, but air." The last word rolled of his tounge like it was a whisper of the wind. He loved it when the sky was cloudy, and the day was stormy. Then the trees were full of sound, and the gusts were enough to almost nock over a pup.

Knock over a pup indeed! Renald felt the wind press against her side; gently at first, but a gust surprised her. She shook a leaf out of her face, chuckling. Air. That sounded lovely. To be able to control air, she thought, is a powerful thing. No wonder he's an Alpha. Renald took a breath, looking around her at the tall, howling treetops.
"Speaking of such, the wind is howlingas if it were alive! It was never this strong in my old land. I quite like it." She added, grinning in his direction. Her ears lowered slightly, only to not be blown uncomfortably to the other side of her head.

Zenith smiled, the wind slowed and calmed, still the clouds stayed for he had no control over them. The trees still swayed, but softly, and in a normal manner. He opened his eyes and looked to the sky, "forever the air has been my friend, I can shape it, change it, control it." He looked back to her and then started walking again, at a slow pace so they could talk more.
"I found I could control the air, when I was young, one day when I had to get away from it all." He recalled running out, after once again playing shadow to his brother. He sighed and turned to her, "When did you find you could control the water?" He looked ahead and could see the camp entrance, "there is the entrance to the camp." He flicked his tail in the direction.

She stayed back again, this time to gaze at the trees. Her old island had been far more barren, more lonely and empty. She would have hurried to catch up, but luckily the Alpha had slowed his quick steps to a more slow, leisurely pace. Renald nodded her head once in awhile to show she was listening; affinity was an interesting topic to her. Men didn't have control over nature like these wolves did, she thought absentmindedly. At least, they never used their power to free themselves or save themselves if they had one at all. Strange.
Her jaw opened, but for a qhile she didn't answer, watching the entrance as if she expected something to leap out at her. When nothing did, she shrugged. "There was a...storm. The land flooded," she said. "I was trapped with a few of the elders in a deep cave." Renald closed her eyes, picturing the scene. Her two best friends. Not elders, as she'd said; much more dear. "Their lungs couldn't take the pressure."

"I'm so sorry, for bringing up that memory." He bowed his head, so they both have lost things important to them. He sighed and looked to the sky, is there any conversation we can have that doesn't lead to one of us in sorrow? He thought of another topic but relized they were at the camp and his ears pirked up. He dipped his head to the guard and looked back flicking his tail for her to follow.
"Welcome to the camp of the Ceveren Pack." He smiled looking around at the wolves who had been his friends and allies for many seasons. "Feel free to pick a den and stay in it. I could help you clear it out if you find one you like, I really don't have much to do today any way." He hoped he could help, because really he was bored.

Renald smiled slightly, lowering her head. "Honestly," she said, "I haven't had a very tragic life. Only one time, one moment I couldn't control, that's all. Don't apologize so much." Right as she spoke, her ears lowered and she cursed in her head. Telling an Alpha what to do. That's got to be some sort of strike against her. Me and my jaw, she thought angrily, biting her tongue.
EmbarrAssed, she walked slowly ahead of him, glancing at the obviously-unowned dens. Renald spotted one near to the camp entrance; it was perfect enough for a large male to be comfortable in. Some ivy was growing up the side of it, dead ivy drooping off to one side. Quickly, she glanced at the Alpha male behind her. "I'd love to have the help," she smiled, dipping her muzzle in a sort of friendly-respect.

Zenith nodded, he knew that, that time would still be hard for her and that she was just covering it up. Sighing he followed her around at a distance, speaking to others as they past sending out orders. When she seemed to stop at one he did too. He liked the one she picked out, of course he loved his own den, a small cave with a few bushes by the entrance, but this one was good too. Smiling he walked in, "good, so what do you want me to start with?" He asked with a grin, wondering how she would take giving orders to the Alpha.

"Oh, well...I...well...I'm not sure, I mean..." she blinked nervoulsy, glancing about. "You...you could get some of the..." Her heart nearly stopped, blood running cold. Bones. She took a step foreward, sniffing, her pawsteps light. Deer.
"You could...you can help me clear the old prey remains?" She asked, as if asking his permission. Renald shook herself, poking at one with her nose before nipping at it. It wasn't as old as she'd thought, it didn't even look like bugs had taken to it yet. Forcing a content look, she glanced back at the Alpha. "Where should we put this stuff?"

Zenith tried not to grin or laugh as she stummbled, she was having troubles comanding him, just like everyone else. He walked over when she mentioned prey remains, since when are there prey remains in here? He shook the question from his head, probably some wolves enjoying time in the shade, or maybe something like that.
"Hm, they look slightly fresh, but we wont risk it." He began to drag out the remains to place them outside of the den, he was about to call someone to go bury them, but then with a smile relized he would do it himself a little later. "Do you need help clearing out the extra branches or pebbles, I'm here to help." He did it again, put her in that position where she had to give him orders.

"I...I...thank you, but..." Renald's content look dropped, finally opening her up to show the nervousness she really felt. First, he was alpha. She'd been taught not to question what an alpha said, much less even direct him in the smallest of tasks. Second, he was male. See above. Third, he wasn't bad looking.
She shook herself, smiling lightly. "I think I...could get it. That's-that's okay. Thank you." She repeated earnestly, picking up a small branch in her jaw, beginning to make a small pile just outside of the den. She'd get it later, when she was more settled. Renald could feel his prescence there still as she paced back and forth, picking up and putting down small rocks and bramble. She went against her own head and ignored him for a minute or two, gathering herself while the two of them were silent. He is a good Alpha, she told herself. A good one. Not much worse than my old Alpha, not worse at all, really.

Zenith smirked, still not moving, he knew she would have troubles telling him what to do, everyone did. Which was what hurt him most, he was treated above everyone else, like he was a king. Maybe, just maybe I can get her to treat me like she would any other wolf? He shook his head still watching her, wondering what to do next, finally his eyes lit up, he had a plan. He waited for a few more moments before he stood again moving a little closer to the den she picked, opening his mouth to speak.
"You know, I should have some one high ranked take you out and show your the territory, and see what your strenghs are." He waited to see what she thought of that. The truth was if she said yes, he would take her out himself. For some reason he liked this wolf, she was fun to be around.

Renald eyed him, dropping another stick onto the pile, before he spoke as he moved closer.
She took his words and thought aout them. A beta or the like? she wondered, and dropped another small stone beside the sticks. "I wouldn't mind that at all, it would be good for me, probably." Renald added, stopping to gaze at her new den. There, she thought. Oh-- Quickly, she ducked forward and pulled a well-sized stick back and out from the cave. There, she thought.
[Baaah, short. Dx]

He smiled and watched as she pilled up the last of the sticks, he then pushed them toward the entrance of the camp. He then turned back to make sure she was still by her cave. "Yes I agree it is good for all new wolves to see the land as soon as possible, it makes them more comfortable in the camp." He turned to look around to see what others were here. He couldn't see many high ranked wolves, since most of them were out.
"Well we should get going on that tour, I mean we have a lot of territory to see." He eyes flashed bright for a moment as he turned walking out. He wanted to look back to see the look on her face, but he knew he shouldn't. Still, will she still come now that she knows it is me giving the tour? He asked himself with a sigh.
